LONE WOLF
The lone wolf, a creature who is on his own
He must find his own food and shelter, a place called home
He stalked his prey, but with no avail
Because he scraped a bush with his tail
Rustled the leaves and scared the bird
He walks away without uttering a word
And because of his miniscule blunder
Tonight he shall go to bed with hunger
That’s if he finds a bed
Someplace warm where he may lay his head
He wanders the mountaintop, with no family, no friends
He walks for days, sometimes without end
Sometimes he’ll walk to the mountain’s edge
Hell make himself comfy, right by the ledge
He howls at the moon, but hears no reply
He wont admit it, but he’ll sit there and cry
He’s all by himself, waiting to die
“Jump off the ledge?” he wouldn’t dare
Take the life he was given, even if it isn’t fair
Sometimes he’ll wonder “what is this place called home?”
Is it a place to call your own
Or were friends and family protect you from harm
Were your loved, and cared for with  no cause for alarm
He fell asleep, there by the mountain ledge
Surely going to fall off its deadly edge
But he was awoken by a small bird
The bird he was going to kill, until he was heard
The bird brought him grapes on which to feast
The wolf devoured them like a savage beast
He then befriended this humble young bird
Realized he has found his home, and now understood this word
From there on in he protected the bird, shielded it from harm
The bird rested in his arms, with no feeling of alarm
The wolf no longer searched for his home
Because he had a loving friend to now call his own
